Modified Saloons
This class is for any DTM, BTCC, WTCC or cars that have participated in a Touring /Saloon car race series. Rally type saloons (2wd only) may also be used.
The saloon rules are designed to achieve rough equality of motor performance and allow a wide diversity of cars to be competitive. Should a particular motor threaten to upset this aim the committee reserve the right to omit it from competition.
A car must race with a motor to a maximum of 20,000rpm at 12 volts from the list below:
Scalextric - standard Mabuchi.
Carrera - standard Mabuchi.
Fly - Fly Racing Evo2/Rally2.
SCX - RX42(B), Pro Turbo/plus and Pro Speed.
Ninco - NC2 and NC5.
Scaleauto - SC08, SC011B and SC21.
Any of these motors may be fitted to any car.
Manufacturers identification stickers must remain attached to the motor.
Basic preparation will be allowed as follows:
1. Motors may be glued into the chassis.
2. Rear axles may be glued in place to stop breakage of the axle brackets.
3. Reinforcing tape or glue may be used to prevent damage or repair wings.
4. Tyres may be glued to the wheel rims.
5. Tyres may be trued and sanded.
6. Light oil may be used on the tyres (3 in 1 or similar).
7. Weight may be added to the chassis on the inside only and must be secure.
8. Axle spacers may be fitted.
Modifications will be limited to the changing of guide blades, axles, gears and tyres. The changing of wheels will also be permitted but these must be the same size as the originals. Upgrade parts from Slot.It, Scalextric, Ninco and SCX will be permitted. Cars must run with interiors but these can be made of Lexan or similar lightweight materials.
No chassis modifications will be permitted other than the removal of moulding flash to allow the body to roll.
